What is your counseling style?
I use an eclectic, individualized approach that is tailored to each individual client. Sometimes I will utilize cognitive-behavioral techniques, ACT, psychoanalysis or provide person centered (Rogerian) listening. I also can give worksheets and “homework” to help assist you when you are not in session, and set you up for changes that can be made on your own.
How much are sessions?
My goal is to make counseling affordable to all. I am currently only accepting private pay clients. I can provide a receipt if your insurance allows you to see out of network providers and you can use an HSA account. Please contact me to discuss your individual needs.
How long are sessions?
All sessions are 50 minutes.
How many sessions will I need?
Therapy does not necessarily need to involve years of commitment many times we can see results in as little as 3-4 sessions. However it is dependent on your unique situation and varies. The more work you put in outside and during our sessions the quicker results are seen.
Is what I say confidential?
Generally yes. I will not discuss your sessions with anyone else so feel free to talk about anything on your mind without fear. What you say will be kept strictly confidential between you and me, except for the following:
- You imply/express danger or harm to yourself or someone else.
- You are an alleged participant in child or elder abuse.
- You provide written permission for me to release information.
- I am ordered by court to disclose information.
I am a Limited License Professional Counselor (LLPC) licensed through the state of Michigan.
Pertinent therapeutic concerns regarding your situation may be discussed with my supervisor in order to help me provide you with the best treatment options; however, any disclosed information will be strictly limited to therapeutically relevant issues.
How can counseling help me?
I feel that everyone can benefit from counseling. Most of us have something that holds us back whether that is a fear, sadness, unresolved childhood memory, grief, a bad self-image, the list can go on and on but there is hope.
My goal is to have you walk out of each session feeling lighter, have a more positive attitude and armed with new techniques and knowledge to assist you in your life. I regularly ask for feedback to ensure you are getting what you need to out of therapy.
What is the next step?
Please feel free to email, call or text me to setup a session or gather more information. I look forward to hearing from you and thank you for allowing me to assist you with your needs.
